Whether you are a beginner and simply enjoy music, or have received formal training in either vocal or instrumental music, the Music Department may offer a course that interests you. Our goal is to develop student skills in listening and appreciating music, and to encourage student participation. We will also expose students to a wide variety of music literature. Eventually, the Bryan music student will be given the opportunity to perform in some worthwhile activity. It is hoped that an appreciation of music will give the Bryan student a greater understanding of the need for self expression, as well as an insight into the importance of music in various cultures.

One of the unique aspects of the music program at Bryan Senior High is the opportunity to participate in various activities while performing music of every persuasion. The following are only a few examples:

  • Summer Marching Band Camp
  • Home Football Games
  • Omaha Marching Invitational
  • NSAA District Music Contest
  • The All-School Musical
  • Christmas Caroling
  • Winter and Spring Concerts
  • River City Roundup Parade
  • OPS Concert Adjudications
  • All-City Music Festival
  • Basketball Pep Band
  • NSBA State Marching Contest
  • Performances at Worlds of Fun
  • Surround Sound

The course listings will give you some idea as to the depth and breadth of learning available to Bryan Senior High music students. Given above, however, is a partial roster of the possible pleasures to be derived from performing and participating in Bryan's music program. Our gifted instructors will give all music students the chance to realize their potential and the opportunity to display their talent.
